5. Number of Health Service Facilities & Traditional

Medicine Professionals Providing TM Services in the
Health Service System

The information related to Ayush sector on Health Service facilities and TM
Professionals is as follows:
i. Ayush Hospitals: There are 3,844 Ayush hospitals in the country as on

01.04.2021. Maximum number of 2982 hospitals is in Ayurveda, whereas,

262, 296, 17, 31 and 253 hospitals pertain to Unani, Siddha, Yoga
Naturopathy and Homoeopathy respectively.
ii. Bed Strength of Ayush Hospitals: There are 60,943 beds under Ayush

hospitals in the country as on 01.04.2021. Maximum number of 44,902

beds is reported in Ayurveda hospitals, whereas, 3947, 2406, 562, 1203,
20 and 7903 beds pertain to Unani, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Sowa-Rigpa
and Homoeopathy hospitals respectively.

iii. Ayush Dispensaries: As on 01.04.2021, 36,848 Ayush dispensaries exist

in the country. Maximum number of 25,241 dispensaries are recorded in
Ayurveda system of medicine, whereas, 1745, 913, 232, 90, 8593 and 34
are Unani, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Homoeopathy and Sowa-Rigpa

dispensaries respectively.

iv. Registered Practitioners under Ayush Systems: There are 813269 Ayush
registered practitioners throughout the country. Maximum 379945 practitioners
have been registered under Ayurveda System, whereas, 312580 practitioners

are under Homoeopathy System. Only, 50011, 9033, 4158 and 53

practitioners have been registered under Unani, Siddha, Naturopathy and
Sowa-Rigpa systems respectively. Further, there are total 57489 certified Yoga
professionals (yogacertificationboard.nic.in)
