                            i.  The summit attracted health ministers from 6 countries. More than 400 WHO
                                delegates from different regions of the world graced the event.  Through

                                engaging sessions and an exhibition, the summit explored ways to scale up
                                scientific advances and realise the potential of evidence-based knowledge in

                                the use of traditional medicine for people’s health and wellbeing around the
                                world.

                            j.  The Global Summit acted like a platform for all stakeholders, including
                                traditional medicine workers, users and communities, national policymakers,

                                international organisations, academics, private sector and civil society
                                organisations, to share best practices and game-changing evidence, data and

                                innovation on the contribution of traditional medicine to health and sustainable
                                development.

                            k.  World Health Organisation (WHO) had released the outcome document of
                                first WHO TMGS 2023 in the form of “Gujarat Declaration”. The declaration

                                talks about scaling up efforts to further implement evidence-based  TCIM
                                interventions and approaches in support of the goal of Universal Health

                                Coverage  and  all  health-related  Sustainable  Development  Goals.  The
                                Declaration also states the role of multi-regional, multi-disciplinary and multi-

                                stakeholder collaborations demonstrated at the Global Summit through the
                                WHO GCTM.

                            l.  G20 Health Ministers declaration under India’s G20 Presidency has recognised
                                the potential role of evidence-based Traditional and Complementary Medicine

                                (T&CM) in health and taken note of WHO’s efforts in this direction including
                                global  and  collaborating  centres,  and  clinical  trial  registries.  Further,  it

                                acknowledged the potential of evidence-based  T&CM practices in public
                                health delivery systems, provided they are rigorously and scientifically validated

                                to be safe and effective as per WHO TM Strategy. Also acknowledged efforts
                                to integrate evidence-based T&CM, as appropriate, into health systems and

                                services by some member states, and efforts to regulate  T&CM practices
                                according to national laws and regulations.
