d) Ayush Gird working with WHO for finalisation of Alpha draft
Traditional Medicine chapter (module 2) of ICD 11
i. A separate Chapter within the ICD-11 for optional use. It provides a list
of diagnostics categories to collect and report on Traditional Medicine
conditions in a standardised and international comparable manner.
ii. Development of a Module 2 which derived from Ayurveda and related
Traditional Medicine diagnostic systems is about to be finalised.
Advantages of inclusion of a Traditional Medicine Chapter in ICD-11
i. Counting of traditional medicine health service encounters
and measure their form, frequency, effectiveness, safety, quality,
outcomes and cost nationally and internationally.
ii. International comparability of practice, research and reporting of
morbidity in traditional medicine.
iii. Digitisation of Traditional Medicine diagnostic data and easier
integration into Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
iv. Better integration of Traditional Medicine diagnostic data in adverse-
event reporting, insurance coverage and reimbursement systems, in
line with larger WHO objectives relating to universal health coverage.

v. Link Traditional Medicine practices with global norms and standard
development.
e) WG 10 – Traditional Medicine in ISO: For creating a stronger presence
for International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) of Ayush, a dedicated
Working Group (WG 10 – Traditional Medicine) created in ISO under ISO/
TC 215 – Health Informatics to formulate International Standards on Ayush
Informatics.
f) International Telecommunication Union (ITU)-Focus Group on AI in
Health: Talking Group (TG) for AI for traditional medicine has also been
formed under Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (FG-AI4H)
at W.H.O/ITU-Focus Group on AI in Health. Ministry of Ayush would lead
this work together with other traditional medicine partners.
