• Continuous quality improvement of TM Services.
• Develop standards, SOPs and guidelines.
• Introduce new TM services and strengthen current therapeutic practices.

• Strengthen research to provide evidence-based treatment.

• Explore possible substitutions for rare and endangered medicinal resources.
• Promote TM spa and wellness services.
• Promote sustainable management and utilisation of medicinal resources.

• Strengthen institutional linkage and collaborations.

• Preserve, promote and integrate useful traditional healing practices into Bhutanese
Traditional Medicine.

Despite challenges, as mandated by the constitution, every effort is being carried
out to harness the potential contribution of TM to the health and wellness of the people

through promoting the safe and effective use of TM, strong regulation, judicious and
T raditional Medicine Systems of BIMSTEC Member States – 2023 Report
rational utilisation of limited medicinal resources, evaluation and integration of TM
products, practices and practitioners into health systems.
