3. National Office/Authority in Traditional Medicine
Today, the functions of the TM are bifurcated into two distinct organisations.
The policy aspects are looked after by the TM Division under the Ministry of Health
and all the clinical aspects are managed by the National Traditional Medicine Services
under National Medical Services with the mission to provide quality traditional medical
services as alternative healthcare through:
• Strengthened management
• Professional development
• Standard practices
• Adopting traditional &
scientific research in BTM
• Sustainable management
of Medicinal Resources
