• Certifying the quality of Ayush drugs for promotion of international trade,

provisions have been made through certification scheme called ‘WHO GMP’
by which the manufacturers can avail of Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product

(CoPP) after thorough inspection and document verification process

9. National Traditional Medicine Pharmacopoeias (number
of monographs of herbal materials and traditional

medicine preparations)

9.1 Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy

(PCIM&H):

PCIM&H is a Subordinate office under Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
Development of Pharmacopoeias and Formularies as well as acting as Central Drug

Testing cum Appellate Laboratory for Indian systems of Medicine & Homoeopathy are
the key fields of activity of PCIM&H.

9.1.1 Publication of Pharmacopoeias

i. 2259 quality standards on raw materials (Single Drugs of plant/
animal/Mineral/metal/ Chemical origin) used in ASU&H: (Ayurveda:

665; Siddha: 139; Unani: 338; Homoeopathy: 1117)
ii. 405 quality standards of ASU formulations (Ayurveda: 203; Siddha:

01; Unani: 201)
