8. Survey and mapping areas
From the 20 District, the high-altitude medicinal plants’ survey and mapping
were successfully conducted only within the defined geographical boundary of Haa and
Paro Districts including the areas of Wangchuck Centennial National Park, Jigme Dorji
National Park and Jigme Khesar Strict Nature Reserve in the month of July-August with
approval from the respective Districts, Gewog Administration, Royal Bhutan Army
Headquarter and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. Most of the assessment was
done in alpine shrubs, fir forests, mixed conifer forests, blue pine forests, meadows,
wetlands, scree and rocky outcrops.
