                      7.  High Altitude Medicinal Plants Survey and Mapping
                          Methods


                             •  Systematic Line Transect and Polygon methods were adopted depending on
                                the elevation and habitat, species diversity and density, distribution and richness,
                                slope gradient and slope aspect, vegetation, dominant species and the survey

                                area.

                             •  A quadrat size of 2/2 metres was used to isolate a standard unit of area for
                                enumeration. The quadrat is laid alternately at an interval of 500 metres as
                                shown in Figure VI.
