6. Policy and Regulation on Medicinal Products
Traditional Drug Law;
• Promulgated in 1996, revised in 2014.

• To enable the public to consume genuine,
quality, safe and efficacious traditional
drugs.
• Manufacturers must have product licence.
• Control advertisement.
According to the Traditional Drug Law, all
Traditional Medicine products to sell/distribute in
the market have to register. Premarketing assessment
and post marketing surveillance were conducted for
the quality and safety of medicinal products.

• All TM Factories must have licence to
produce their products.
• 15782 products are registered and 3620 are having licences (as of June 2023)
