QC and Products

• It is reported that nearly 600 registered products are available in local market
of Bangladesh.

• And they not only meet the local requirements but are also exported to the

neighbouring countries.
• Recently some of the modern pharmaceuticals also started a separate wing for
the production of traditional medicine in Bangladesh.

• All the products are certified from Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL), Bangladesh.

Future Plan for TM activities

• Inclusion of more TM manpower from primary to tertiary level hospitals

• Establishment of Unani and Ayurvedic graduate colleges in three divisions

• Establishment of Unani and Ayurvedic Research centre

• Formation of separate Council for Unani & Ayurvedic system of medicine.
• Establishment of Post-graduate institute for Unani and Ayurvedic system of

medicine.
• Establishment of National herbal garden & National Research centre.

To Up gradation of Education- New Operation Plan is being taken for next 5
years namely ‘Alternative Medical Education (AME)’ under The Directorate General of

Medical Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the following components-
1. Graduate Alternative Medical Education

2. Post Graduate Alternative Medical Education
3. Planning and Research

4. Training
