3.2  Effective Documentation of Research in Ayush:

                            Huge repository of extensive research works by various stakeholders in Ayush is
                     created online at a dedicated website:  Ayush research portal, cataloguing 37000 +

                     research publications. The portal is actively managed by CCRAS, Ministry of Ayush and

                     is made in a searchable format and includes publications in indexed journals.  This
                     provides a showcase of evidence-based Ayush systems and a ready solution for researchers
                     and academicians.




                     3.3  Central Sector Scheme for undertaking Research in Ayush systems of
                          medicine:

                            a) AYURGYAN  Scheme:  It  supports  Education,  Research  &  Innovation  in

                                AYUSH by providing academic activities., training, Capacity Building etc.
                                There are two components in the scheme viz., Capacity building and Continuing
                                Medical Education (CME) in AYUSH and Research and innovation in AYUSH.

                                i. Research and Innovation in AYUSH: The scheme is aimed at developing

                                   the opportunity for scientific scrutiny of AYUSH systems for the benefit
                                   of users, researchers, practitioners, industries & common people at large.
                                   The  outcomes  of  the  scheme  are  expected  to  harness  the  potential  of

                                   AYUSH in the interest of public health delivery.  The evidences thus

                                   generated will help in propagating rational use, clinical application &
                                   mainstreaming of AYUSH. The scheme would widen the scope for clinical,
                                   fundamental, pharmaceutical, literary and medicinal plant research in Extra

                                   Mural mode. The Objectives of the Scheme are as follows:

                                   a. Development of Research and Development (R & D) based AYUSH
                                      Drugs for prioritised diseases;
                                   b. To generate data on safety, standardisation and quality control for

                                      AYUSH products and practices;

                                   c. To develop evidence-based support on the efficacy of  AYUSH drugs
                                      and therapies;
                                   d. To encourage research on classical texts and investigate fundamental

                                      principles of AYUSH Systems;

                                   e. To generate data on heavy metals, pesticide residues, microbial load,
                                      safety/toxicity etc. in the raw drugs and finished  Ayurveda, Siddha,
                                      Unani and Homoeopathy drugs;
