หนังสือ Guidelines of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine on the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19

Under the circumstance ofCover B 2 only cover widespread coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the health and the livelihood of people around the world are drastically affected.  Almost all businesses have greatly slowed down or some even have to go out of business, while schools need to be temporarily closed. There is also a shortage of food and consumer goods and panic among the public.  As a result, all public and private sectors must be well prepared to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic before vaccines become available or a way to cure the disease is developed.  Everybody needs to adjust their daily lifestyle to a ‘new normal’ in strict accordance with the measures of the Ministry of Public Health, including taking care of one's health in order to stay healthy to prevent this viral infection.

For a role in health promotion and disease prevention, the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine has recommendations on eating herbs for immune enhancement.  Currently, there is research evidence showing that many herbs are useful in strengthening the immune system, and some even have potential to help treat COVID-19 patients, such as Fa Thalai Jone (Andrographis paniculata).

The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine sincerely hopes that this document will be useful for interested people as well as all public and private sectors involved in a collaborative attempt to fight this infectious disease in order for all of us to overcome the battle against COVID-19 pandemic together soon.
